7 Key Points for Global SAP Deployment

1. Focus on developing and managing a global blueprint which will be the basis of the system configuration and developments.

2. Apply learnings from other companies and experts, especially regarding how local statutory requirements were addressed.

3. Utilize SAP standard country version to minimize own customization and additional developments.

4. Utilize SAP standard reports which generally cover 80% of standard business processes, and focus on remaining 20% relating to special business processes. Evaluate and prioritize add-on development objects and work with the global team to identify common objects/programs.

5. Communicate with all stakeholders, including key people in the subsidiaries and power users. Discuss the solution with them and exchange knowledge and information on best practices.

6. As much as possible, build one client in SAP with multi companies, using common Chart of Accounts and Controlling Area.

7. Align and unify master data and KPIs. Keep "One version of the Truth" in the global system.
